Class 66 Machines

328 Style-o-Matic

Heavy duty household model.  Vertical needle, class 66 drop-in bobbin.  Semi-automatic machine uses Fashion Discs for zig-zag and decorative stitches.  Treadle-capable.   Available in two colors, greenish-gray and reddish-brown.  328 was manufactured in multiple factories.  Unless otherwise identified:  328K = Kilbowie (Scotland); 328J = St. Jean (Canada); 328P = Penrith (Australia).

327

Budget version of 328 Style-o-Matic.  Zigzag only.  Treadle ready.  Sometimes labeled "327 Spartan." Basic household zigzag machine.  Has some plastic & nylon parts (top cover, spacers).  Not as heavy duty as 328.

99

3/4 size portable straight-stitch model.  Class 66 bobbin, belt-drive, rear-mount motor.  Sometimes mistaken for the Featherweight, but it is larger and heavier than the 221.  (My mother calls it the Anchorweight.)

192 Spartan

3/4 size portable straight-stitch model.  Budget version of the 99K, the Spartan does not have a light or auto-stop on bobbin winder.  Class 66 drop-in bobbin.

185

3/4 size heavy duty portable.  Heavy for its size. Class 66 drop-in bobbin, straight-stitch only. 185K manufactured in Scotland, 185J manufactured in Canada.  Mechanically identical to 99K in updated shape and color.

201-2 Electric Sewing Machine

Straight-stitch, vertical needle machine, class 66 bobbin.  Built-on 'potted' motor with worm-gear drive.  Front-mount light fixture.  201-1 model was treadle-driven, 201-3 was rear-mount belt-drive motor.

66 "Red-Eye"

Straight-stitch machine, class 66 bobbin.  Belt-driven, rear-mount motor. Treadle or hand-crank compatible.  Forward stitch only, no reverse.  Called "Red-Eye" due to the decorative gilt pattern.  Also produced in an Egyptian "Sphinx" motif.
